Day 145 ~
After a full day of sniffing every corner of the yard, chasing all creatures smaller than herself, retrieving the treasured tennis ball and playing with Willow and Murf, someone needed a relaxing, soothing, water massage in the hot tub.

Day 103 ~
I am frequently asked about the dangers of bringing my camera to the beach. Sand and water can be a great cause of concern when it comes to photographic equipment. I live at the beach and I enjoy taking photos while there, whether it be of the often found sandcastle, the shells which have washed a shore, the sun setting behind the dunes, or the dogs playing in the waves. I am as careful as I can be and fortunately for I have my older yet very functional camera. I generally bring this one, leaving my prized D7000 safely at home.
This evening the tide was low and calm, B and I took the girls over for a swim. For some reason us humans can not fully understand, the mussel shells were of particular interest to Yellow Girl. Not only for sniffing but before we knew it and before we could pry open her mouth, she had ingested several. I was certain they would pass through by the morning and we went about romping and playing.
Back at the car, I gave the girls a drink of fresh water to help wash any sand and ocean water out of their mouths. We gathered up the leashes, towels, water bowl, camera and 4 legged friends and started back to the main land. When suddenly there was a loud retching sounds and the splatter of water, remains of mussel shells covered the car seats, camera and lens.
Next time I am asked about the dangers of bringing my camera to the beach, I may think twice.

Day 102 ~
I have been a bit remiss in keeping up with my, self promised, daily photo of Yellow Girl. I had a few extra minutes last week and jumped at the chance to borrow a 500mm. This being a wonderful lens to capture Osprey, they have become the focus of my attention and lens. With it’s return tomorrow, I am certain the now 5 month old girl will be my main subject once again.

Day 97 ~
See this sweet angelic puppy face? It is the face of a Yellow Girl, who in her quest to learn about all things, uprooted one of our freshly watered impatients and ran through our house shaking it about. As we were getting ready to meet friends for lunch, Yellow Girl was entertaining herself by splattering mud from floor to ceiling.

Day 86 ~
Yellow Girl has spent the last two days laying and watching me plant all the summer flowers. In order to keep these plants safe from all quadrapedals I have surrounded the beds with small green wire fencing. We have had a discussion on how she is to leave all plants alone and there will be no decapitations. This is the look I received after the talk.
I think she is laying in wait and laughing at the fencing.

Day 75 ~
My camera had been in the shop getting a good Spring cleaning. Go figure, it had dog hair and sand on the sensor! To make up for the absences of 2 days, today I post 3 photos. Our puppy raiser club had a trip to a local minor league baseball game today. It gave our puppies great exposure to noises, smells and people, and "Yellow Girl" was given the chance to visit with two of her littermates.

Day 66 ~
As a general rule, Seeing Eye puppies in training and Seeing Eye Dogs are not permitted to have human food. Since most dogs are food oriented; and should they became accustomed to having table scraps, this could lead to potential problems such as a blind individual having their food taken by the dog. I do adhere to this rule, and have actually applied it to all of my dogs; those in training and my family pets. As a result, there is little to no begging for food in my house, making meal times pleasant.
B and I arranged several vacation days in which we planned to refurbish our old shed. All was going according to plan: we were going to put the finishing touches on it today and call the project completed….…then the rains came.
Plans were changed and as my Mom likes to say, “idle hands are the devil’s best friend”. I went out and purchased small ice cream cones in celebration of my birthday.
Shhh, don’t tell ‘cause I’m thinking “Yellow Girl” could be hooked on this sweet creamy treat.

Day 65 ~
As a reward for her good behavior while imprisoned, Yellow Girl was given time in the play yard. To our surprise she just layed on the decking watching her "Papa" work on replacing the roof on the shed.
